Tennyson General Baptist Church Hosts Fundraiser

Tennyson, INThe Brotherhood of Tennyson General Baptist Church presented the Warrick County Red Cross with a $2,530.00 check this month. The Warrick County Red Cross plans to use the funds to help them reach their capital campaign goal for renovations on their recently donated facility in Boonville, IN.

The brotherhood raised the money by hosting a BBQ. Their mission began several years ago with the first BBQ for Bakers Chapel after the tornado. Every since they have been helping local organizations and groups reach their goals by grilling for the cause. Ron Forston spends most of his weekends during the warmer months organizing these events throughout the community. Ron stated that barbequing was one way the Brotherhood could give back to the community and they all enjoy helping.  

Red Cross Receives $2000 Grant from Wal-Mart

Boonville, IN  Boonville Wal-Mart Supercenter associates presented the Warrick County Red Cross with a $2000 grant on May 8, 2008.  The Red Cross plans to use the funds to purchase training manikins for CPR classes.  The donation was made by Wal-Mart as part of the company's community grant program.      

"Our associates were excited to make this donation to such a whorthwhile cause," said Gary Nook, Wal-Mart Supercenter manager. "The money will be utilized for programs in the local community that we are glad to support. This is just a small part of Wal-Mart's ongoing commitment to the communities in which we operate."
